Vision & Strategy

A tradition fully awake to this moment.

What we are building toward, the three tracks we are organizing across, and how we will know it is working.

What we are building toward

We are not defending a broken system.

We draw on our deepest theological convictions to defend the rule of law, free and fair elections, checks and balances, and accountability to the people — the institutional conditions under which all communities can flourish.

But we also hold a longer view. We are working toward a democracy worth belonging to.

Strategic priorities · 2026–2027

Three tracks. One organizing intervention.

The grounding vision

Organizing to Reimagine, Renew and Heal Democracy

An organizing intervention that brings everyday people in Mainline congregations into shared analysis and collective action on the threats facing democratic life.

Track 1Now – early 2027

Election Defense

Voter registration and GOTV in strategic geographies, poll chaplains and legal observers, and active preparation to counter efforts to delegitimize the 2026 midterm elections.

Track 2Now – 2027

Detention Center Accountability

Sustained faith-based accountability as the federal government expands immigration enforcement — congressional oversight, story amplification, and congregational organizing.

Track 3Now – 2027

Narrative & Storytelling

Articulating a proactive vision for dignity, belonging, and the common good — and stewarding powerful stories of Mainline congregations and leaders embodying this vision.
